Few hardy perennials offer such a long season of quiet elegance, with pure white flowers carried freely above neat, finely divided foliage from late spring into summer.
Geranium sanguineum Album forms a compact, gently spreading mound that is equally at home edging a border, weaving through roses or softening the front of a sunny bed. Once established, it copes well with drier conditions.
The deeply cut foliage often develops attractive red tints in autumn, extending its season of interest beyond flowering while also helping to suppress weeds between neighbouring plants.
