A festive riot of colour for the late summer garden, Helenium ‘Mardi Gras’ (Sneezeweed) is a compact and sturdy perennial that doesn’t require staking. It forms a neat mound of mid-green foliage that becomes smothered in large, daisy-like blooms from July right through to October.
The petals are a lively blend of yellow, heavily splashed with rich orange-red, surrounding a prominent chocolate-brown central cone. This long-flowering variety is perfect for adding warmth to the front of sunny borders or cottage schemes. A magnet for bees and butterflies, it thrives in full sun and prefers soil that retains some moisture.
August-September flowering. Best in a sunny position. Height & spread: 75cm x 60cm (30″ x 24″).
