A striking epiphytic clubmoss from the cloud forests of South America, producing dense, pendulous tassels of bright green, needle-like leaves that cascade elegantly from baskets or mounts. It is prized as a living ornamental for its architectural form and lush, evergreen texture.
- Light: Bright indirect light with 5060% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which desiccates the delicate foliage.
- Temperature: 5572F (1322C). Cool to intermediate grower; cool temperatures and good air movement are essential.
- Humidity: 7590%; very high humidity is critical. Best grown in a cool, humid terrarium or highland setup.
- Watering: Keep consistently moist; never allow to dry out. Mist frequently and ensure excellent drainage to prevent rot at the base.
